On the sign-up page, enter your details using an email address you can access. A verification code will be sent to your email address. If you do not receive it, please check your spam/junk folder. Enter the code to activate your account. You can then purchase a subscription to access the revision resources.

No. Once your account has been created, the email address associated with it cannot be changed. Please ensure you register using an email address that you can access.

Use the Forgot password link on the login page. A password reset link will be sent to your registered email address and will remain valid for 30 minutes.

No. Subscriptions are for individual use only and cannot be shared. Sharing your account is a breach of our Terms and Conditions and may result in your account being suspended or terminated without a refund.

Yes. You can access your account from any compatible device using your login details. However, the same account cannot be used on multiple devices at the same time. If you log in on another device while your account is active elsewhere, you will be signed out of the previous session.

No. Your subscription is charged as a one-time payment and does not renew automatically.

Your subscription provides access to the platform for six months from the date of purchase. You may purchase an extension at any time.

Subscriptions are generally non-refundable due to the nature of our digital content. If you believe you may be eligible for a refund, please contact us at hello@plabable.com. Refund requests are considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

We accept all major debit and credit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. If your payment is declined, please contact your bank or try an alternative payment method.

We recommend preparing in three phases. First, build your core knowledge through our Practice by Category section in the Question Bank. Secondly, strengthen your understanding of prescribing principles and high-yield topics through our Webinars and Gems and finally complete our timed Mocks a few weeks before your assessment.

Each Plabable mock is a 60-question, 2-hour paper that mirrors the exam. The level of difficulty and prescribing interface are built to match the exam so that you will become familiar and gain confidence in the actual exam.

Questions are written and reviewed by NHS doctors and pharmacists who have vast experience in prescribing.

While Plabable is designed to help you prepare effectively for the PSA, we cannot guarantee a pass. This depends on your individual preparation, revision and performance on the day of the assessment. We do, however, strive to equip you with all the knowledge, information, and skills needed to ensure you have the best chance of passing on the first attempt.

No. The British National Formulary (BNF) is freely available online through the official BNF website and app. Plabable references the relevant BNF sections within explanations to support your learning.

The Prescribing Safety Assessment (PSA) is a UK-wide online assessment that evaluates the prescribing skills expected of newly qualified doctors. It is an ‘open-book’ exam with reference to the online British National Formulary. The PSA is delivered by MSC Assessment and the British Pharmacological Society and is taken by final-year UK medical students, newly qualified doctors and international medical graduates who enter the UK to work as Foundation Year 1 junior doctors.

The PSA assesses eight competencies across 60 questions, including prescribing, prescription review, management planning, providing information, calculation skills, adverse drug reactions, drug monitoring, and data interpretation. The questions are clinically realistic and require you to write or review prescriptions using similar electronic prescribing systems used in the NHS.

The PSA is a 2-hour online assessment consisting of 60 questions worth a total of 200 marks. Item weighting varies. For example, a prescribing question is worth 10 marks (5 marks for selecting the correct medicine and 5 marks for prescribing the correct dose, route, and frequency), while single best answer questions are usually worth 2 marks.

The PSA is held on multiple national assessment dates throughout the academic year. Your medical school will allocate your assessment date.

The pass mark is set for each sitting using a Modified Angoff standard-setting process. As the pass mark is adjusted to account for differences in paper difficulty and any issues identified during post-assessment review, there is no fixed pass mark for the PSA.

Yes. If you do not pass the PSA, you will usually have the opportunity to resit the assessment. The timing and availability of resits depend on your medical school’s assessment policy. Please check with your medical school for details of your resit arrangements.

The PSA assesses safe prescribing skills for final-year medical students and Foundation Year doctors. PLAB is the GMC’s licensing route for most international medical graduates. The UKMLA is the UK Medical Licensing Assessment, which all UK medical graduates must pass before joining the medical register. Plabable supports preparation for all three exams through separate platforms.

Yes. The PSA includes an on-screen calculator for calculation-based questions. Plabable’s mock exams also include an on-screen calculator so you can practise calculation questions in an exam-style environment.

No. Plabable is an independent exam preparation platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by any organisation.

The question bank currently has about 500+ exam-format questions covering all eight competencies that are tested in the exam. Questions are added and reviewed daily and subscribers receive access to them as soon as they are published.

Yes. Your progress is saved automatically, allowing you to return to questions, review previous attempts, and monitor your performance over time.

To protect our intellectual property and maintain the integrity of our content, we restrict copying and right-click functionality within the question interface. Our content is also watermarked on a per-account basis, allowing unauthorised sharing to be traced.

Yes. Every question includes a written explanation that cites the relevant BNF section (or NICE guideline), allowing you to verify the prescribing logic against the key reference sources used in the exam. Common pitfalls and alternative prescribing options are also highlighted.

Yes. Once you have completed a mock exam, you can review your answers and read the accompanying explanations.

Plabable for PSA supports the current and previous major versions of Google Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. JavaScript and cookies must be enabled for the platform to function correctly. The platform can be accessed from compatible desktop computers, laptops, and tablets. For the most authentic exam experience, we recommend using a laptop or desktop computer when completing mock exams.

Plabable for PSA is not currently available as a mobile app. The platform can be accessed through a web browser and we recommend using a laptop or desktop computer for the best experience, particularly when completing mock exams.

No. Webinars are offered as an optional supplementary revision resource and are not included with a standard Plabable for PSA subscription. As webinar availability depends on lecturer schedules and upcoming exam dates, they are offered separately.

Our webinars are delivered live and recordings are not provided. During the live session, candidates can ask questions through a dedicated WhatsApp support group. Webinar slides are shared after the session and remain available to attendees for six months.

We run webinars throughout the year to support students preparing for the PSA. As assessment dates vary between medical schools, webinars are scheduled to align with upcoming exam periods where possible. New webinars are announced on our Webinars page as they become available.
